The Six Rings PodCast - Segment 15

Segment 15 is the April 21, 2009 episode of The Six Rings PodCast.

This episode is a companion to Segment 14. Together they form my response to a listener request: How do we use The Six Rings concepts to play over changes?

In Segment 15 we have a hands-on look at using 'patterns' or 'riffs' as the starting point for improvisation. Grab your guitar and have fun.

Like segment 14, this episode is quite self-contained,although I think there is a lot of value in working through both 14 and 15. Most players with a modest skill level will be able to work through these exercises without listening to any preceding episodes.

The Six Rings is a music learning method about the six basic patterns that practically explain how music works. This is an effective program for the self-taught musician or for any musician who feels there may be gaps in their understanding of music from a practical perspective.

You can learn more about The Six Rings - begin with the overview - Segment One - or with the first instructional section - Segment Two.

Join Canadian guitarist Bonar for a monthly (or so...) episode and reveal the mysteries of music.

You can subscribe to this PodCast in iTunes - just click here!
